TAIL BLAZERS

To help teach kindness and empathy toward pets and people

Tail Blazers School Presentation

Tail Blazers School Visit

The Tails That Teach goal is to inspire kids to be kind to their pets and peers while encouraging literacy. Our books teach valuable life lessons of kindness, compassion, and empathy through the adventures of a young boy learning positive interactions with his puppy. These lessons uniquely parallel appropriate interactions with peers while reinforcing positive attitudes, building self-esteem, and developing social/emotional growth.

The following are two options available for grades PK-2:

1) SCHOOL VISIT: A 20-30 minute visit from the author that includes a book reading followed by an interactive conversation that creatively combines age-appropriate humane education with character education to teach kindness, compassion, and empathy toward all living beings. Students learn basic pet responsibility and how their actions directly impact others by paralleling the needs and similarities of pets and people. And, since literacy a vital part of our mission, our books are donated to every student in attendance. School visits are ideal during Kindness Week, Anti-Bullying Week, or anytime. Available in Southern CA and Nashville, TN only. To schedule a visit, please complete the form below.

2) ADVENTURES WITH COOPER CLASSROOM KIT: If a school visit isn’t an option, our Classroom Kit is available to educators for a unique expansion activity to teach kindness and inspire students to act with compassion and empathy toward pets and peers. The Kit comes in a reusable canvas tote bag, includes a set of our books, teacher curriculum, and writing/drawing journal. Students will enjoy taking turns bringing the kit home so they may read, write, and even draw about their adventures while learning responsibility and kind care. Order the Classroom Kit here.

Statistics show that fostering strong bonds between kids and pets provides them with a solid foundation to practice and build positive relationship skills.
