FOUNDER & AUTHOR

Lisa Wiehebrink…

is the proud founder of the Tails That Teach organization and children’s author of the award-winning books, Love Me Gently, A Kid’s Guide for Man’s Best Friend and Gray Whiskers, A Kid’s Guide for Loved Ones Growing Older. Lisa believes that by caring for a pet, children learn important life lessons of kindness, patience, unconditional love, compassion, and empathy. Her inspiration comes from knowing that these lessons have a powerful impact on human connection which can make a significant difference in the life of a child.

Lisa also founded National Rescue Dog Day which is celebrated annually on May 20 to recognize the special bond that comes with rescuing a dog while also bringing awareness to the countless number of dogs waiting to be adopted. In honor of this day, she wrote the book Paws n’ Reflect, Lessons Learned from Man’s Best Friend. All proceeds help the Tails That Teach mission of providing books to humane societies at no cost.

Lisa is a dedicated animal advocate and lives in southern California.
