MEET THE AUTHOR

Lisa Wiehebrink…

is a children’s author of the award-winning books, Love Me Gently, A Kid’s Guide for Man’s Best Friend and Gray Whiskers, A Kid’s Guide for Loved Ones Growing Older. These books uniquely bridge the connection between people and animals. Lisa believes that by caring for a pet, children learn important life lessons of kindness, patience, unconditional love, compassion, and empathy. These lessons help them relate to the people in their lives from childhood to adulthood.

Lisa is the proud founder of the nonprofit organization Tails That Teach which donates her books to humane societies and elementary schools around the country. Lisa also founded National Rescue Dog Day which is celebrated annually on May 20 to recognize the special bond that comes with rescuing a dog while also bringing awareness to the countless number of dogs waiting to be adopted.

Lisa is a dedicated animal advocate and lives in southern California with her family including four rescue dogs.
